Thong (1629-1656) constructed a palace on Bang Pa In Island in the Chao Phraya River. There were wild reports from a Dutch merchant, Jeremias van Vilet was King Prasat Thong illigetimate son of King Ekathotsarot who in his youth was shipwrecked on that island and had son by a woman who he befriended. The
boy became the Chief Minister and after having usurped the throne he became
the King Prasat Thong.
