 Benten Kutsu Cave Hase Dera Temple photo copyrighted by: Brian McMorrow The Benten-kutsu Cave in the north corner of the precincts the golden statue of Kannon is more than 9m high and is the tallest wooden image in Japan. Inside the cave is a statue of the Buddhist deity Benten, as well as sixteen statues carved around the walls of Benten’s disciples.
