Ho Phra Keo Temple photo copyrighted by: Kazuo Lim Khee Boon Phra Keo was constructed to house an emerald Buddha that the king took from Thailand .
The temple was destroyed in 1828-1829 during the Thai sack of Vientiane rebuilt in 1936,
and restored again in 1993.
