Rocca San Leo photo copyrighted by: Brian McMorrow San Leo is a real hill top town. It came under control of the Montefeltro family from the 14th century.
The present name comes from a Lombard fort (Rocca), which a document mentions as already existing in 1133 as, recently restored, which was near a church dedicated to San Felice.
