Temple of Bacchus Lebanon photo copyrighted by: Brian McMorrow The temple stands in a curious relationship – or better non-relationship – to the great complex of the Temple of Jupiter, commonly called the Acropolis of Baalbeck because of its elevated position. This acropolis, with its overpowering size and lofty
location, is a complete entity and certainly must have been connected in some significant way with the town of Baalbeck.
