Tsurugaoka Kaikan photo copyrighted by: Brian McMorrow The building is made of two parts: Haiden or the oratory hall in front, and Honden or the inner sanctum, which is the most sacred part of the entire Shrine. Cherry trees line the avenue to the shrine. The trees were ordered by Yoritomo as a prayer for the safe delivery of his first-born son.
